Lori-Al Cleaners was founded in 1982 at its original location: 1750 University Drive in Coral Springs, Florida. In April, 1989, master cleaner Jay Goldstein partners with the original owners, a husband-wife team.
One year later, Jay bought out his partners and began operating the business on his own. The business moved to its present location, 1316 University Drive in August, 1996.
Jay Goldstein brings over 45 years of expert dry cleaning experience to Lori-Al Cleaners. Jay started in the business in 1970, working part time for his uncle while he attended Kingsborough Community College in Manhattan Beach, on the southern tip of Brooklyn, New York.
In 1976, he opened his first store, Brightwaters Cleaners in Suffolk County, Long Island, New York. That was until 1989, when he moved to Florida and became associated with Lori-Al Cleaners.
While in New York, Jay attended spotting school, where he learned the art of removing spots from virtually any fabric. His expertise in spotting led to teaching spotting classes in both Long Island and Coral Springs, where he taught spotting for Eagle Cleaners. Jay has a degree in Wet Cleaning from the National Cleaners Association.
